When he got there, he called out in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?” Daniel 6:20
I searched but couldn’t find the answer to how many times the Bible uses the expression – or a form of it The Living God!!! Yet it is this fact that we are so prone to lose sight of!!! Maybe in our subconscious we know God is today what He was the day the created Adam….that He has the same power – and same love he had when the final word of Revelation was penned.
If these truths are buried in our subconscious – why oh, why are they not front burner truths when we walk into our darkest moments — how could we ever lose sight of the fact that He is still and forever will be The Living God.
It goes without saying that if: you walk with Him, pray to Him, believe He is with you always —- He will never fail you. Quoting a dear old saint from yesterday – George Mueller In the greatest difficulties, in the heaviest trials, in the deepest poverty and necessities, He has never failed me; but because I was enabled by His grace to trust Him He has always appeared for my help. I delight in speaking well of His name.
Men come and go; leaders, teachers, preachers speak and work for a season, and then fall pass from this life. God abides – we pass from life – God forever lives – He is the unchanging One.
Without a doubt one of our greatest spiritual assets would be living in the unvarying consciousness of the actual presence of Jesus Christ. Nothing can spur us on – lift up our arms – encourage our hearts than knowing JESUS is always with us
May 2018 be so lived by all of us that we bask – live – serve – work – and sleep in the intimate presence of Jesus Christ. May He be on our conscience – always on our lips – that people will think we are weird because we are always communicating with Jesus – where at home or at work?
Practicing the presence of the LIVING GOD – will transform our Tuesdays – as well as our Sunday’s — if God is for us – who can be against us….
Discovery – the past couple weeks, I’ve beaten the drum with the message – “because we had to cancel services because of the weather – let’s everyone double our tithe & offering Sunday.” Guess who failed to take his own medicine? Max/Annie…..mid afternoon I was convicted that we only put in for one week – so this week, I’ll be sure to catch up. Maybe you could follow my example?

The weather has played HAVOC on our attendance this year…..even though we had about half our people in attendance – we rejoiced – we prayed – we sang – we worshipped – we studied and we served……after the final prayer – I was speaking with Nancy and Stacy – telling them that I was aware those who lived away weren’t going to make it today…..I told them what I’d wanted on the church sign – and Stacy said – “do you want me to change it.?” I said, “would you?” She said “I’d be happy to!!” She along with Jackie and Kaylee – took off the letters from the old sign and changed it to this HE LOVES YOU SNOW MUCH!!!! – how fitting……..then Kaylee filled a couple sacks with the food you brought to church and she filled up the Blessing Box……Guess what – the box was empty Sunday evening…..It was filled up To The Brim Monday evening and within 2 hours totally emptied…..it was filled up Tuesday noon – and Wednesday noon Empty –…………….Our Wednesday morning D-Group was surprised to find out our restaurant didn’t open because of the weather…..we sit in Solomon’s car for 30 minutes to find out on their website –this morning is a no-go…..we transferred to Ernie’s on Walnut and had a great meeting…………..A southern gospel song which was so popular when I was in high school has this lyric – prayer is the key to heaven – but faith unlocks the door….50 years later, I’m still convinced PRAYER is the spiritual discipline so needed as Discovery moves forward. If you are reading these words – please consider marking the 2nd Sunday of February on you calendar and come to Discovery Center and join our hearts in prayer for either a few minutes of the hour…..December and January we are averaging 5….sure love to see that number multiply……..It is great to hear that Jackie has our youth working hard on memorizing the books of the Bible. If they complete the task they will be treated to a pizza party at CiCi’s…..Max spent the weekend with us – and we must had heard the little song 40 x’s – as he is learning the books of the Bible by the jingle of the song….GREAT!!!!!!

· God will put a spirit of trust – love – and joy in the hearts of our neighbors and they will check us out and find peace for their hearts – and Jesus for their souls
Early in the week – Emily Spain contacted me with 2 thoughts — 1) I will put my calling card in the Blessing Box with my phone number on it hoping someone will all me and we can have a phone interview has the Blessing Box has helped them. 2) I will be at church Sunday to interview some who bring food and finalize the segment I want to run regarding the Blessing Box….
As stated earlier in this E-News – we believer prayer is the key….therefore we have a new ministry coming soon……At the conclusion of each of our Celebration Services there will be a couple prayer warriors moving to the prayer bench awaiting anyone who wants to come and be prayed for…..the benches will be at the back of the church and you will be directed when and where as the service comes to a close…..We will direct men to pray with men – and women pray with women….
Scripture for D-Group Study & Celebration Service – Jan 27-28 – Topic: Liturgy for the Home:
CHILDREN & PARENTS Eph 6:1-4 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord,[a] for this is the right thing to do. 2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”[b] 4 Fathers,[c] do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
