Following God’s Schedule
Romans 11:33-36 Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! 34 For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice?[a 35 And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back?[b] 36 For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.
Most of us enjoy feeling in control of our own schedule and grow frustrated when things don’t go according to plan. Yet if we truly desire to walk in the center of God’s perfect will, we must become willing to cooperate with His time frame.
Consider how you pray about situations in your life. Without realizing it, you may be demanding that God follow the schedule you’ve constructed according to your very limited human wisdom. Yet if we believe He is who He says He is, how can surrendering to His way not be to our benefit? Think about His unique, praiseworthy qualities:
· His all-encompassing knowledge. Unlike us, the Lord has complete awareness about our world and the details of every individual life–past, present, and future.
· His complete wisdom. God understands man’s every motive, whereas none of us are able to accurately discern people’s intentions. We make choices based on partial information, whereas He has the wisdom to take action based on truth.
· His unconditional love. Our Creator is always motivated by love and constantly has our best in mind. Unless we trust His heart, our view of reality will be distorted.
· His perfect sufficiency. At just the right time, God will provide us with everything we need to carry out His plan.
Submitting to God’s timetable requires faith and courage. Believe in the goodness of His heart and His plans–and determine to wait until He gives the signal to move forward. Then, as you follow His schedule, you’ll experience the joy of watching Him make all things beautiful in His timing.
The Church – The Body of Christ & the GIFTS
This week’s Celebration Service will be looking at Paul’s teaching to the Corinthian church illustrating how He sees the Church in relation to our human body…..Paul says the human body has many parts but the many parts make up only one body. So it is with the body of Christ. Is there any part of your body – you’d gladly part with? I hope you would say – emphatically “NO!!” We have the same response regarding every member of Discovery….YOU are valuable…..YOU are important….YOU perform a function that is needed – and I trust everyone will be present to hear what Scripture teaches regarding the importance of every member in the body of Christ.
A Letter from Mary Noble
To all my Church Family:
I want to thank you for your prayers, food, visits, card and phone calls, during my stay in the hospital and after returning home. It was deeply appreciated.
Love you all,
Want to thank Chris Fleenor for the use of his truck in transporting the tables we used for our Passover meal back/forth from Blue Ridge Christian Church…………We are blessed to have Kevin Myers clean our facility 3 weeks a month — He wants to do this out of his love for Christ and service to the church……FYI – we do pay Radcliff Janitorial to have the building cleaned one week a month…………..We give praise to our God who has answered our prayers regarding Jackie Drage’s employment. Jackie begins a new job Tuesday at the University Hospital…..the Drage family will be spending this weekend in Springfield, MO – rejoicing in God’s grace – and fellowshipping with old friends…………..Like to encourage everyone to give a little more time to PRAYER next Thursday – (National Day of Prayer)……if you are unable to be at the Courthouse from Noon – 1:00 PM – please pray are your current location…………….The Jennings family is rejoicing in God’s grace—- 6 weeks ago, Annie begin feeling a little pain in her good hip. 2 years ago she had the other hip replaced & we wondered what this pain might mean. We called for an appointment with the surgeon – and that appointment was kept this past Tuesday…..results of the visit — the 3 x-rays indicated, just a little arthritis going on – no surgery needed. We glory in this report and give praise to God……………Morgan Duff has plays the flute for 3 years in the Jeff Jr band….and last night the band gave their final performance. As the concert continued the thought occurred to me that what I’m observing is a classic example of how Christ wants the church to operate — the band was made up of many different type of instruments — and when they all blended together the sound was harmonious and very pleasant to the ear — when each member of the church performs their task according to their talent/gift – the result is so pleasing to the heart of Jesus – and this is again this is our THEME in our upcoming Celebration Services………..
The National Day of Prayer is next week May 4th. Good friends, Travis & Jen Smith, created this awesome graphic. Please blast it out to your congregation and networks through social media.
Please ask your prayer warriors to surround this event in prayer calling for good weather, the faithful to come and bind Satan and his demons from protesting or entering this space!!
I’m believing God for a packed crowd of HIS children seeking His face and praying for deliverance for our city, our county, our state and our nation!!

A new ministry has begun at Discovery — it is our privilege to bring the Lord’s Supper to either you home or hospital. We’d like you to call Vern Johnson at 573-881-6293.
Our fellowship believes the early Christians participated in the Lord’s Supper every week. We carry that thought to this day – that is why we want those to participate in the Lord’s Supper even though they are incapable of being at the church to receive the element.
Please be in prayer as 8 from Discovery serves the families in the Auburn Hills neighborhood. Would you pray that we will have success in our tasks? Would you pray that we will make friends of those we serve? Would you pray that God will be glorified by our effort? Thank yo for your prayers.
All D-Groups will be studying this text this week….
Gal 5:18-23 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
